"A caged wild animal will pace the edges of the confined space, back and forth, back and forth until, in effect, they get in a rut. So much so that, of the boundaries are removed, the poor creature is likely to walk the same path trapped in the same old same old, or perhaps too terrified to venture into the new, the strange, the unknown.
We have many sayings that warn us against changing he status quo: ‘Better the devil you know’. ‘Out of the frying into the fire’; and there is the ancient Chinese curse, “May you live in interesting times.”‘ or my not quite so ancient younger sister’s response to ‘How are you?’
“You know me, as long as the kids and grandchildren are OK, I’m happy!”
We all run on habit most of the time because the effort and energy required to change - and to sustain that change - might be, as we fear, more trouble than it’s worth.
And it might all go wrong, and if it ain’t broke, why fix it?
Every choice taken is a limitation (If you can have both this AND that, there is no need to choose), and we can NEVER know the consequences of any action until we act - or until we fail to act!
Inevitably, we will come up against barriers and boundaries, obstacles and objections - some real, others imagined and many remembered - but the most pernicious are the walls we build to keep the world out, and keep building to the point when it is too late by the time we realise that we have built ourselves a prison.
Have a GREAT day and go well
