yeah because salt absorbs water and if what everyone else said is true than all the salt is doing is helping it revive itself. Once the salt has absorbed all the water all the fly has to do is (if what cwiltz is true) open up the breathing organ in its legs and fly away. I personally feel bad for that fly, its going to need a lot of therapy :)

I think there's a breathing organ on the fly's legs/feet that closes up when they're in water to keep them from drowning. They look dead but they're really in some sort of stasis to keep them from dying. Read more at www.wonderhowto.com
