Haven't we all, at times, presented a false front, puffed ourselves up a little, tried to create an impression that belied the state we were in?
OK, maybe YOU haven't (!), but I certainly have, and cannot be sure that I will never do so again.
Perhaps this situation is the equivalent of the warning that drivers get of speed cameras ahead; acting as deterrents to preclude foolish or felonious acts?
