Who is it for:

Teachers, Sencos, learning mentors, home tutors, and others who want to motivate, inspire and more effectively influence those they teach and mentor.

What is it:

  • A different approach to communicating with the ‘hard to teach’ and increasing their Emotional Intelligence by modelling the attributes of crafty listening: CURIOSITY RESPONSIVENESS ASSERTIVENESS FOCUS THOUGHTFULNESS YES!
  • How is it different?

  • Unlike more conventional training, there is no fixed agenda

  • Issues that delegates bring on the day determine the content of exercises, but the emphasis is on process

  • Discussion about people who are not in the room is curtailed

  • The focus is on increasing your influencing skills

  • Exercises and discussions that help to develop confidence and competence for modelling and teaching the techniques to students, mentees, etc., via the Art and Craft of listening

  • Techniques to help learners reconsider limiting beliefs and bed-rock assumptions that impair self-awareness and self-motivation

  • No role-plays!
  • What does it offer?

    • Models, theories and techniques based on solid research and sound theory. Some will probably be familiar to you; others might offer new perspectives, and all of them can be taught fairly easily to your learners.

    • Such as?

*Logical Levels of Change *Linguistic Icebergs *NLP *Representational Systems *Caring Confrontations *Time to Think *NLP *Reversal Theory *Clean Questions*Action Learning Questions *Well-formed Outcomes *Descriptive Praise
